The game Bubbles is highly addictive. The goal is very easy: you have to clean off the field by matching three or more bubbles of the same color. All exploded bubbles will appear on the field time and again. So in order to clear the playing field and get to the next level you must detonate them all. Master you skills and have fun!

Romantic showers and breathtaking rainbows, the frost of winter melting on the flowers in early bloom, -- when I think of Spring, I visualize texture and color. Bright yellow daffodils, green pastures, crystal clear running water, when I think of Spring, I imagine the rejuvination of life. Read More...
When I first heard the word Sudoku, I thought it was new brand of saki wine or suishi.
Sudoku is a game whose objective is to fill all the blank squares in a game with the correct numbers. Playing requires no intense mathematical knowledge or calculations. It requires simple rules of deduction and logic. It can be played by any age -- children to adult. Read More...
February 20, 2009 Are You Smarter than a Middle School Math Student?
When I tell people I’m a high school math teacher, I usually get one of two reactions.
“Ooh, I hated math in school,” or “Cool, I was awesome at math.”
I don’t know what it is about this discipline that gets such vast reactions from people.
Me? I love teaching -- in fact, I’d go as far to say that I’m passionate about my teaching. Athough I think math can be fun, I chose to teach this subject because I was good at it. I do admit, however, I did get teary when Lindsay Lohan spoke of her love for math in Mean Girls...Read More & Take the Quiz...
When I was pregnant with my daughter a million years ago, I walked to the local Genevese Drug Store and bought myself a chocolate bar every day -- ususally a Mars bar. Sometimes I'd freeze it then savor it that evening, but most of the time I couldn't wait until I got home. I was crazed when I missed my daily chocolate -- obsessed with it's creamy goodness. What is it about chocolate that make people go wild? Read more & Take the Quiz...
I’m a teacher, mother, author, and a recovering alcoholic/addict (over 6 years). Frequently, female addicts or those who possess an addictive personality are cross-addicted. As young as the age of five, I remember having an unhealthy relationship with food -- an obsessive attraction and compulsion to eating, unlike friends my age. Often, I felt like a freak in my own body.Read More & Take the Quiz...
"Black is like the silence of the body after death, the close of life." -- Wassily Kandinsky, 1911
After I stumbled on this quote, I understood the reason I was incredibly attracted to Russian artist Kandinsky’s abstracts and glorious use of geometry and color. More than an artist, as an accomplished musician, Kandinsky claimed he heard music when he saw colors.Intrigued by his correlation between color and music, I decided to research the meaning of different colors, and see how different colors affect people. Two marriages, five engagements -- it’s no wonder I failed this test. - 55% - ouch! I guess Mars and women are from Venus, and I don‘t know anything about either of those planets.
Perhaps, I still have stereotypes imbedded in my brain…
Men talk less than women, men are less emotional than women, and a man rarely asks for directions when he’s lost. When a man expresses his opinion he’s strong and assertive, but a woman is just a bitch… Read More…
Stimulus Plan -- Brings me back to my college days when I popped Dexitrims to stay up all night and study for my exams. Okay, federal government -- stimulate me. There is one thing I have learned in my 45 years on this Earth -- don’t discuss religion & politics. I’m a teacher -- you’d think I would be a die hard liberal -- shouting at the top of my lungs about the problems with our educational system. I do soapbox about education every opportunity I get (but that’s another rant.) I don’t affiliate myself with just one party. Sadly, I still believe that we can live in harmony as a bi-partisan society. Ah, but a part of me still believes in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, Bigfoot and the Lock Ness monster. In these very scary times, times that rival the great depression, my hopes, prayers, and respect are with President Barak Obama and congress. But this $789 billion stimulus package -- is this really the solution? Read More...
When I checked my email this morning, I noticed an article called Worst Husband Ever.
“They interviewed my ex-husband?” I quickly thought to myself. Apparently, on an episode of WifeSwap, a show I had seen once or twice, one of the husbands was dissatisfied with his ‘wife swap’ and requested a refund from the producer. He was used to an uptown sort of gal and spending $40,000 a year of tuition for his young children -- not a go-carting, junk food eating and ballgame watching woman. Read More...
I walked into my faculty room the other day and stumbled into a conversation between two of our newest and youngest teachers of our department. -- whose combined age nearly equaled my own.
Normally, I truly enjoyed the opportunity to indulge in some girl-talk, but this time -- something was different. These girls were just starting out -- nervous about classroom observations -- talking about their spring weddings and size 2 wedding dresses. I felt uncomfortable and detached -- I felt old.
